The Quick Run-Down

Halal is an Arabic word meaning “permissible” or “lawful.” In a religious context, it refers to the dietary laws in Islam. Halal foods are lawful and permissible to consume according to Islamic law. This includes foods that are not considered haram, which means forbidden or prohibited. Halal food includes all types of meat from animals such as cows, sheep, goats, game birds, and poultry as long as they have been slaughtered using traditional Islamic methods and by Islamic law. Dairy products such as milk and cheese also adhere to halal standards. Additionally, vegetarian dishes without any pork-derived ingredients can be classified as halal food too.

Halal Street Eats Food

All of our food is halal. Even down to the chicken broth we use for our chicken gyros. We prep and make our food daily for our community so that it is in the freshest state for consumption. We serve our best just how we would want to be served.

The Bottom Line

Many Muslims only eat halal food that has been sacrificed in God’s name. Halal Street Eats offer this option of food to include that small community that wants to enjoy authentic, fresh chicken and lamb gyros. But guess what? It’s also COMPLETELY OK for non-muslims in Corpus Christi and Coastal Bend to enjoy this too!

We believe in the best ingredients for making our food authentic and fresh. Our halal lamb and chicken gyros taste great and we encourage our community to give us a chance and try it!
